Coffee Break

Coffee Break is a community wide, cross-cultural, small group Bible study for adults that gathers on Wednesday mornings throughout the school year for fellowship and study. The large group is divided into several small groups with 12-15 attendees in each group. Either a book of the Bible is studied or a topical study is used.

A nursery is offered for newborns through age one, while a program called Little Lambs is available for children ages two and three to introduce them to God’s Word through a story time and planned activities. Children ages four through six also have a time of study and play geared to their age level called Story Hour—a program which makes learning about God an adventure.

Covenant Sunday Morning

Covenant Sunday Morning (CSM) provides a forum for adults to meet together outside of worship and to further their understanding of God’s kingdom by through informal presentations, discussions, and study. Topics of discussion and study vary depending on the talent and insight within the membership of Covenant. CSM meets at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings September through April.

Creation Tenders

Covenant takes seriously God’s call to care for creation and strives to live this out in the life of our church. We know God loves his creation and is saddened by our careless behavior and unthinking misuse of it. We recognize the need for people to encourage one another to live responsibly in the creation.

Covenant sponsors several swap meets throughout the year, encouraging the reuse of items that can find a new home. We have been a voice in our community promoting environmental activities such as electronic recycling and began a community seed exchange for those looking to get a jump start on their garden. We also host a year-round “free swap” for Covenant members through Facebook, offering items to one another and sharing larger items (such as power tools, vehicles, and yard equipment) with the church body.

For more information on Covenant’s commitment to creation care or to get involved, contact the church office covenant@mtcnet.net.

F.O.S.S.I.L

The F.O.S.S.I.L. (Friends Over Sixty Serving in Love) group meets monthly, usually at 5:30 on the last Monday of the month.  They share a meal together and follow up by discussing items of general interest.  In addition to socializing, members strive to serve each other, the congregation as a whole, and others in the community. FOSSILs are active, loving, and full of life!

For more information please contact the church office covenant@mtcnet.net.

Men's Bible Study

A group of men informally gather together at Casey’s Bakery every two weeks at 6:30 AM from September through May for a time of study and fellowship. A variety of books or passages from the Bible are used as well as various Bible study guides/books. The group mainly consists of men from Covenant but anyone who desires to join is welcome.

For more information please contact the church office covenant@mtcnet.net.

Quilters

Covenant Quilters is a group made up of anyone at Covenant who would like to help with making quilts. Our mission is to show in a concrete way, through the making and giving of quilts, Christ’s love and our love to fellow brothers and sisters at Covenant Church, our community, and our world. This is accomplished by gathering together during the year in a united effort to make quilts. All ages and skill levels are welcome to help the cause.

For more information please contact the church office covenant@mtcnet.net.

Sunday Evening Discussion

A group of adults gather after the evening service two Sunday evenings each month, September through April, for a time of fellowship and discussion together.  The group generally chooses studies that include DVDs to watch and discuss, so no preparation is necessary. If you wish, bring a snack to share and join them for fellowship and thoughtful discussion.

Walkie Talkies

Every weekday morning, after walking or exercising, a group of women meet at a local fast food restaurant for coffee. You don’t have to walk or exercise, you can just show up for coffee, and you don’t have to worry about the time, anytime between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. is fine. The group is big enough and with no assigned seating, so you will meet and enjoy different people just about every time you come. We talk a lot, but we seldom gossip. We discuss sermons, the weather, and politics. Many of us love to read books and share them with each other. We share our joys and sorrows. If you have a birthday, an anniversary, a new grandchild, or another occasion to celebrate, you can treat with a few goodies, or invite us into your home for a home-baked muffin. You make good friends for life and, for many of us, it makes growing older a bit easier.

Women's Bible Study

In addition to Coffee Break, there are usually a variety of women’s Bible studies going on throughout the church education year.

There is a group that meets on Monday mornings at Covenant with child care provided for a modest fee. This study is open to members of the community.

Another group of women meets on Wednesday evenings in homes, usually using a DVD Bible study.

For more information about what groups might be meeting currently and how to get involved, contact the church office covenant@mtcnet.net.
