Adult Ministries

The Adult Choir sings on the first Sunday of the month and rehearses on the Wednesday before at 7:30 PM. If you enjoy singing, join us!

Coffee Break

Coffee Break is a community wide, cross-cultural, small group Bible study for adults. Either a book of the Bible is studied or a topical study is used. At Covenant approximately 100 women, children and man (one) gather on Wednesday mornings throughout the school year for fellowship and study. The large group is divided into several small groups with 12-15 attendees in each group.

A nursery is offered for newborns through age one while a program called Little Lambs is available for children age two and three. A story time with planned activities is used to introduce this age group to God’s Word. Children age four through six also have a time of study and play geared to their age level called Story Hour—a program which makes learning about God an adventure.

Wednesday mornings at Covenant are active, joyful times filled with fellowship and studying God’s Word at many levels.

Covenant Sunday Morning

Covenant Sunday Morning (CSM) provides a forum for adults to meet together outside of worship and to further their understanding of God’s kingdom by presenting topics of interest through informal presentations. Topics of discussion vary depending on the talent and insight within the membership of Covenant and also on the many visiting lecturers and scholars visiting our community. CSM meets at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings as announced September through April.

Creation Tenders

Creation Tenders is a group of Covenant members that promotes the stewardship of the creation. We know God loves his creation and is saddened by our careless behavior and unthinking misuse of it. We recognize the need for people to band together and encourage one another to live responsibly in the creation.

We have been involved in hands-on environmental activities like recycling (of electronic materials, glass, unused household items from our homes, and Christian educational materials), anti-plastic grocery bag campaigns, and the promotion of gardening. We sponsor an all-day fall event that is part Swap Meet, part Harvest Festival and celebration of the gifts of farm and garden produce and the old-time skills that accompany food preparation. We also sponsor occasional “supper and discussion” events and outings (like a canoe float) that get us out into the creation.

We are a committee that is involved in environmental issues and educational activities. We have held several week-long summer Creation Care Camps for local children; we occasionally invite experts in a certain area of the creation to speak to our group; we plan worship services and other activities that celebrate our participation in the creation.

Our group is composed of members that participate in these four areas: Projects, Suppers and Discussions, Education and Celebration, and Communication. We encourage all interested in the nurture and care of the creation to join us.

Men's Bible Study

A group of men informally gather together every two weeks or so at 6:30 a.m. from September through May for a time of study and fellowship. A variety of books or passages from the Bible are used as well as various Bible study guides/books. The group mainly consists of men from Covenant but anyone who desires to join is welcome.

Another group of men is reading through the Bible and meets every Sunday morning at 9 AM. All men invited!

Covenant Quilters is a group made up of anyone at Covenant who would like to help with making quilts. Our mission is to show in a concrete way, through the making and giving of quilts, Christ’s love and our love to fellow brothers and sisters at Covenant Church, our community, and our world. This is accomplished by gathering together during the year in a united effort to make quilts. All ages and skill levels are welcome to help the cause.

Sunday Evening Discussion

Couples gather every other Sunday evening after the evening service. No preparation is necessary as this group chooses studies that include DVDs that they watch and then discuss. If you wish, bring a snack to share, and stay after the service for fellowship and thoughtful discussion.

Walkie Talkies

Every weekday morning, after walking or exercising, a group of women meet at a local fast food restaurant for coffee. It makes getting up easier! Not many of us are as ambitious as that looks. You don’t have to walk or exercise, you can just show up for coffee, and you don’t have to worry about the time, anytime between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. is fine. The group is big enough and with no assigned seating you will meet and enjoy different people just about every time you come. We talk a lot but we seldom gossip. We discuss sermons, the weather, and politics. We just about all love to read books, and share them with each other. We share our joys and sorrows. If you have a birthday or an anniversary, or a new grandchild, you treat with a few goodies, or invite us into your home for a home-baked muffin. You make good friends for life, and for some of us it makes growing older easier.

Women's Bible Study

In addition to Coffee Break, there are usually a variety of women’s Bible studies going on throughout the church education year.

There is a group that meets on Monday mornings at Covenant with child care provided for a modest fee. This study is open to members of the community.

Another group of women meets on Wednesday evenings in homes, usually using DVD Bible study.
